A Trusted Voice

It has been a long and at times tiring campaign season. I want to take this opportunity to thank each one of you who took the time to stop and talk with me about the issues that are important to you. As I have gone door-to-door throughout District 36 for the past three months, I have learned a lot by listening to and talking with each one of you.

You have made it very clear that you want me to continue the fight for meaningful Ethics Reform in state government. Be assured that this issue is at the top of my legislative agenda. Several months ago I pre-filed a bill calling for an independent Ethics Commission to investigate alleged wrong-doing in our government. I'll work hard with other like-minded legislators to get that bill passed in the next legislative session. The public is demanding meaningful change in how our state government works. I am demanding it as well.

You have also made it clear to me that you want the boundaries of the Millcreek Township protected beyond July of 2010, the sunset of HB40. Another pre-filed bill of mine will do just that but keep open the possibility of incorporation or annexation if the majority of township residents want either option.

I'll also continue the fight for quality education in Utah and raising teacher salaries to a living wage. We must figure a way to keep qaulity teachers in Utah and stop exporting them to other states who recognize their true value.

Again, thank you for your interest in good government. I would be honored to serve another term as your voice in the Utah House of Representatives. Representing the residents of District 36 has been and will continue to be my only special interest.
